In 2004 I graduated as an actor from the William Esper Studio in New York.

It was also an education in being human. I learned to listen, to take things in and to put myself in other people’s shoes.

That is the starting point, whether I am working as an actor, facilitating forum theatre in prisons, teaching managers to handle difficult conversations, working on culture change in a company or helping TV presenters make an impact.

Film and TV

I have appeared in Danish films and TV series such as Borgen, Sommerdahl and Klassefesten. In 2023 I landed a recurring role in the first two seasons of South America’s biggest TV series, Americana, for Disney+. I lived in Brazil while the series was shot in São Paulo.

I am represented by Victoria Lepper Associates Talent Management and Global Ensemble Talent.

Theatre

I have worked with satire, performance art and happenings, and have performed at Teatret ved Sorte Hest, Bådteatret and Odin Teatret, among others.

In 2016 I co-founded Work In Progress CPH. We created a project about sexual assault seen from the victim’s perspective, supported by the Danish Victims Fund (Offerfonden).

Young people from all over the country were invited to the theatre free of charge to see a play about rape from the victim’s perspective, followed by a workshop on everyday communication and setting boundaries.

The aim was to show the human consequences of abuse, build understanding for the person who has been violated and, at best, change the culture around unwanted sexualised behaviour among young people.

Communication training

I train everyone from top executives to employees and TV presenters in presentation skills, difficult conversations and forum theatre.

Sometimes on my own, sometimes together with role-play actors or consultancies.

For 20 years I have worked with power in practice. From politics, boardrooms and newsrooms, where power is often invisible, to the more confrontational power of security guards on the streets and prison officers behind the walls of the Danish Prison Service, where I have facilitated conflict management for the past 15 years.

I am interested in how we communicate across an organisation when expertise, age, seniority, culture and language differ. When everyone in the organisation is treated as an expert, people start to see and understand each other’s reality.

I teach Meisner technique at drama schools and coach professional actors and other artists crossing over into film. I have been artistic director of the Danish Film Actors’ Academy.

Volunteer work in diversity and integration

I am on the board of Women in Film & TV, WIFT Denmark, which works for representation and equality in the film and media industry. I am in charge of our partnership with Grand Teatret and CPH:DOX on relevant film screenings.

Fifteen years ago I was given custody of a child from Afghanistan, who is now grown up and part of the family. That led to volunteer work in the field of integration. I have attended asylum interviews, visited asylum seekers in departure centres and prisons, and given talks, including at Folkemødet, the Danish democracy festival.
